Special Species Fish Comprehensive Development Project

I. Background:
The Ertix River is the only Arctic Ocean water system international river of China, its unique climatic conditions and water area ecological environment breed many valuable and rare fishes, such as burbot, tench, northern pike, perch, sandre, Hucho taimen, Leuciscus idus, and Arctic grayling etc. These species of fishes are growing fast, and have fresh-tender flesh quality and enriched nutrition, being with very high economic value. The 10th Agriculture Division is located at the side area of the Ertix River, having varies sizes of reservoirs and lakes 122 ones, the water surfaces available for fish farming is 188 thousand mus, they are all connecting with the Ertix River water system, the water sources are sufficient with good water quality and have no pollution, being the ideal farms for growing of the special fish species of the Ertix River. At the present time, the special species of fishes have been successfully bred in trial.
The Ertix River Special Species Fishes Development Co., Ltd. is an enterprise with Arctic Ocean water system special species fishes resource research and development in integration. Its covered area is 68 hectares, the existing workshop building floor area is 2100M2,（including spawning workshop, high water tower, incubating workshop, big shed hothouse, and biology bait workshop etc.), the fry rearing pond is more than 20 hectares, the company has had technology and facility conditions for Ertix River special species fishes breeding. From 2001 to 2004, the Company tackled key problems in union with the Shanghai Fisheries University, and in 2002, took the lead to make breakthrough in artificial breeding technology for northern pike, perch and tench. In the recent several years, the Ertix River special species fishes are sold very well in varies big cities of the whole country being with no any declining, the prices are in rising tendency, and the long term potential is extraordinary wide.
II. Construction Contents:
To extend the breeding farm for the Ertix River special species commercial fishes, and develop counterpart reservoir lake aquaculture base 60 thousand mus, aquatic product processing workshop buildings and equipments.

55.4 million yuan.
IV. Benefit Estimation:
The internal rate of return is 25.3%, investment recovery period is 7.1 years, and profit ratio of investment is 38.5%.
