First of all, I would like to express our warm welcome and heartfelt thanks, in representative of the people's government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the 20 thousands peoples of all ethnic groups of the whole Xinjiang, to all of visitors for your attending to the Middle and South-West Asia Regional Economic Cooperation High Level Forum!
In the nowadays of world economy globalizing and areal economy integrating, we have a happy gathering in here the Xinjiang -- a junction region which connects the Middle and South-west Asia or even Europe, to speak freely on and exchange regional economic cooperation and development, to seek cooperation and exchange in multi fields, channels, and levels, and to offer advice and present strategies for the development and economic prosperity of all regions of countries.
Xinjiang is the frontier and important gate for China opening to the west, with more than 20 years of reforming and opening, especially since implementation of western region development strategy of China, the development of economy and all sorts of social undertakings of Xinjiang obtains great achievements, its cities and townships have occurred great changes in appearance, the living of peoples of all ethnic groups has been improved greatly; market economy structure of opening to the outside world in an all round way has already formed basically, and Xinjiang has established business and economy relations with more than 140 countries and regions in all over the world, the volume of foreign trade in 2006 reached about ten billion us dollars. At the present, the development of Xinjiang is in the rapidest and best period of its history, we shall seize this historical opportunity, to give full play to the geographic position advantages of Xinjiang, to speed up the construction of the "China-Kazakhstan Huoerguosi International Border Cooperation Center", to create good investment environment, on principle of reciprocity and mutual benefit, jointly development, and co-prosperity, to jointly initiate resplendent tomorrow with countries of Central Asia, West Asia, South Asia, Russia, and European Union etc.
Under the attention and support of China Commerce Ministry, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and Boao Forum For Asia, we have successfully held four Middle and South-West Asia Regional Economic Cooperation High Level Forums, through the forums, the participant representatives of various countries express their strong desires of seeking economic development in multi-aspects, and they have made active promotion roles in aspects of realizing business and economy cooperation, cultural exchange, and advantage complementation etc. I believe that, through this time of forum, it will infuse new vigor to the business and economy cooperation and exchange of countries of Middle and South-West Asia, Russia, and European Union etc, and add luster and colors for realizing the nicety prospect of regional economy co-prosperity; and will make all representatives understanding China and especially the Xinjiang in further step, thus to establish solid foundation for the future cooperation and co-win, and joint development.
